The Beginning of the Cutest Collection: My Pokémon Cards

So this is a little confession: I have started collecting Pokémon cards, and I am completely, giddily obsessed. I know, I know — it is not the most obvious hobby for a girl who spends her days thrifting slip dresses and layering blush-toned scarves. But that is exactly why I want to tell you about it. Sometimes the sweetest little joys sneak up on you sideways, and this one arrived one quiet evening with a pack of cards and a cup of tea, and I have not stopped smiling about it since.

It began almost by accident. Someone opened a pack near me, the foil caught the light, and I felt that exact same flutter I get when I find a perfect vintage bow at the bottom of a thrift bin. There is a little treasure-hunt thrill to it that I did not expect — you never quite know what is inside, and the not-knowing is half the fun. I peeled that first pack open very carefully, like I was unwrapping something precious, and just like that I was gone.

Of Course I Gravitate to the Pink Ones

Here is the part that made me laugh at myself: the second I started sorting my cards, I realised I was quietly building a little pile of the pink and pastel ones. Every soft, rosy, dreamy card was being lovingly set to one side while the rest waited their turn. I did not plan it. It just happened, the way my whole wardrobe somehow happened in shades of blush. Turns out my coquette little heart cannot be switched off, not even for a card game.

And honestly, there are so many prettier-than-you-would-think cards out there. Fairy types, cotton-candy skies, characters in the softest lilac and baby-pink — it is like someone designed a whole corner of this world just for princesscore girls like me. Lining them up on my desk next to my ribbons and my little trinket dishes, they look right at home. My collection is barely a beginning, but it already feels so completely, unmistakably mine.

A Cozy Little Hobby, Not a Serious One

I want to be clear that I am in no way a proper collector who knows the rules or the rare ones or anything remotely impressive. I am just a girl who thinks they are cute and finds it wildly relaxing to sort them by colour on a slow evening. It has become my new wind-down ritual — a candle lit, something soft playing, and me carefully arranging little cards like a very content magpie. No screens, no pressure, just a gentle, cozy kind of happy.

If you have ever felt silly about loving a small, unglamorous thing, please take this as your permission to lean all the way in. The hobbies that make you feel like a delighted kid again are the ones worth keeping. I will absolutely be sharing my pastel finds as the collection grows — you can follow the cutest ones over on my Instagram — and if you are new here and want to know the girl behind all the pink, my about page is a lovely place to start.

For now I am off to sort my little pink pile one more time, because apparently that is who I am now, and I could not be happier about it. The cutest collection ever is officially underway. #liviasloves
